Kids home from school, snow, activities to get to, more snow, schedules to keep, here comes the Series Meeting, and is that another flurry? ... it can be hard to keep up with it all. Thankfully, we Leaders know where to go to get some support and encouragement. The Leader Department and our wonderfully giving District Advisors are always there to lend a hand and boost our spirits. This week, Pam Kostbar-Jarvis, DA for the Mid-Hudson section, offers a timely reflection.
Now, how does that relate to La Leche League? When we’re overwhelmed with the tasks of being a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt and so forth, we often look at our job(s) with La Leche League and say, “More work! What a pain!” Let’s try to look at that “more work” and say, “Another Leader Applicant! How beautiful! She received help from my co-Leaders and me and she wants to give back, or maybe, she saw the fire that burns in me for helping mothers and wants to try that herself.” “Another conference (or retreat or Leader Development Seminar)! How wonderful! What an opportunity to catch up with Leaders I’ve known for ages, to meet the new, energetic Leaders and share ideas, and to share our wealth of experience and knowledge with others!” “Another article to write! What an opportunity to share what I’ve learned or experienced!” “Another opening on Area Council! What a chance for me to learn a new skill so I can contribute to this group whose message is so important to me!” There is something magical about La Leche League too! So enjoy!
