A New Change for LLL NY 2016-2017 Fiscal Year: Groups will now keep the entire amount of the membership money collected in their treasuries. Membership in LLL will remain either $25 per member or $40 per member.
The increased funds in the Group treasury will help Leaders meet their LLL of NY financial obligations. For example, selling a $40 and a $25 membership will pay for Leader dues for one year.
Membership money can also help pay for travel, lodging, and registration for Leaders and Leader Applicants to LLL events. Note: Memberships sold before 3/31/16 should still have the LLL NY portion mailed to Sharon Matusek, AFC.
La Leche League is a membership organization. The memberships we offer provide the opportunity to belong to La Leche League and to, make a connection with and support the work that we do in our communities as we provide mother-to-mother education and support. The work of Leaders in their local communities is our strength.
With the change in membership money distribution, LLL of New York wants to provide resources and tips to Leaders for promoting memberships. Mariana Mastracchio is the new Membership and Fundraising Coordinator, and she is available to help with all of your membership questions at email@example.com. Mariana has developed a document with membership and fundraising tips.
Why are memberships necessary for the Group?
Membership is the easiest way for a Group to stay solvent, fund Leader education, pay Leader or Group dues, cover operating costs, and provide community outreach. The recent change in the Area's membership for the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year allows Groups to retain all money from membership sales - What a great incentive!
"I'm so thrilled with the opportunity to work with you as the new Membership and Fundraising Coordinator for LLL of New York. My goal is to provide as much information and ideas as possible to help you sell memberships and run fundraisers on a regular basis, answer your questions, and hear your successful stories."
