Presented live and available on demand for a month.
Registration is open: https://www.vconferenceonline.com/microsite/html/event.aspx?id=1276&offset=4
This inaugural online conference is firmly grounded in La Leche League. A keynote will be the new LLLI DVD produced by Lisa Manning of LLLNZ, featuring LLLI Founders Marian Tompson and Mary Ann Cahill remembering the early days of LLL and pondering the future. Other sessions will focus on the mission and philosophy of LLL and the five responsibilities of Leaders. Sessions will be 20 minutes long, designed to fit into the busy schedule of mothers and LLL Leaders, and to focus on the key aspects of each speaker’s specialty. The registration fee for LLL Leaders is at a discounted rate of $15/day or $50 for the full conference.

The fed-is-best movement has resurfaced again. The La Leche League response has not changed. LLLI Response to the “Fed is Best” Movement.
The La Leche League International stance on infant stomach capacity and newborn feeding patterns have recently become targeted by the Fed is Best movement on social media. LLLI would like to reaffirm that the organization adheres to the latest and best research on this topic: Dr. Nils Bergman has published the best to date review of the literature regarding infant stomach size and implications for infant feeding. What Dr. Bergman describes (feeding intervals of about one hour) makes sense physiologically as well, as it is consistent with what breastfeeding mothers consistently observe. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23662739
