Kids home from school, snow, activities to get to, more snow, schedules to keep, here comes the Series Meeting, and is that another flurry? ... it can be hard to keep up with it all. Thankfully, we Leaders know where to go to get some support and encouragement. The Leader Department and our wonderfully giving District Advisors are always there to lend a hand and boost our spirits. This week, Pam Kostbar-Jarvis, DA for the Mid-Hudson section, offers a timely reflection.

This winter I’ve been thinking about the phrase, “Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.” For years, friends and acquaintances, even people in the grocery store line have observed, “We just don’t have winters like we used to. We hardly get any snow, and whatever we get melts right away.” Well, this year we got what we wished for, an "old-fashioned winter." My husband usually walks 4 miles each day. He said one day, “I haven’t walked since Monday because I’ve been shoveling snow (or raking it off the roof) every day.” I am sure that all of you are dealing with the same thing and feeling those warring emotions of “More snow! Oh how beautiful!” and “More snow! What a pain!” I hope that you’ve taken your children sledding, made snow angels, and stopped to look at the snow as it comes past the streetlights. There is something magical about it! So enjoy!
Mark your calendar and make your plans ... the Leader Development Seminars (LDS) are on the way!

I am always looking for ways to publicize the La Leche League meetings that the Group recently began holding in Scarsdale, NY. Last March, I walked into the Buy Buy Baby store located one mile away from our meeting place in Scarsdale and asked the manager if I could display LLL information there. She directed me to the corporate office, and several phone calls later I was speaking with the Public Relations contact for all Buy Buy Baby stores.
